Town Hall, taken from under the eaves of St Andrew's Cathedral this morning. It was about 9am, and despite the brightness of the day, the façade of the Town Hall was cast in shadow.

just clicking on "auto contrast" in "image does improve the shadow details and, more important, increases tonal separation in those deep shadows.
